VendRoam

VendRoam connects mobile vendors with the people who want to find them. Vendors start a shift and share live location, menu, and event details with anyone who has scanned that vendor’s unique barcode. Customers follow vendors they care about and get proximity alerts when a vendor is nearby — without a public directory of every vendor on the road.

There are no traditional user accounts and no in-app payments. Each device uses an anonymous ID to manage vendor listings or follower records. Your “My Vendors” list and related local app state stay on your device until you uninstall.

For vendors

• Broadcast live location while a shift is active so followers see you on the map.
• Publish vendor name, description, contact phone/email, menu (including photos), and calendar/event listings visible to your followers.
• Permanently delete your vendor and all server-side data from Settings → Edit → Danger Zone → Delete My Vendor, or contact us if you need help the app doesn’t cover.

For customers

• Scan a vendor’s QR/barcode to follow it (camera is used only for scanning — no photos stored from the scanner).
• While the app is open, your location is sent to our servers so we can compare it to a followed vendor’s live position and alert you when it’s nearby — including notifications when the app is closed. That location is stored privately per vendor you follow and is never shown to the vendor or other customers. It updates when you follow a vendor or tap “Ping me here” on that vendor’s map.
• Delete your data in the app with no waiting period: remove one vendor from My Vendors (trash icon → Stop Following), or delete every followed vendor at once from My Vendors → Settings → Danger Zone → Delete All My Data. Both options remove your private server data immediately.
• Contact vendors using the phone or email they display — we are not part of that conversation.

Privacy & data (summary)

• Vendor live location during an active shift is public to followers by design.
• Vendor contact details shown to followers are public by design; customer details tied to private party/calendar bookings stay private.
• Customer proximity location is private per followed vendor on our servers; follow lists and local state remain on your device until removed or uninstalled.
• Deletion is in-app only (per vendor or Delete All My Data). Step-by-step details are on our Delete your data page.
• Backend uses Google Firebase (including Cloud Messaging), Google Maps, and Play Install Referrer. We do not sell data or use it for ads.

Location data may be delayed or unavailable. The app does not verify food safety, licensing, or compliance — vendors are responsible for their business and local laws. Not directed at children under 13.
