1. Introduction
TerpAI ("we," "us," or "our"), developed by Cunning Creek Studios, is committed to protecting user privacy. This application is intended for adults aged 21 and over. It is not directed to children or minors, and we do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 21.
2. Information Collected and Stored
2.1 Local Data (Stored on Your Device Only)
TerpAI stores the following data locally on your device using encrypted storage. This data never leaves your device:
- Journal entries, including personal cannabis usage notes, ratings, and reflections
- Search history for recent strain searches
- Preferences, including app settings and display preferences
- Premium status, including whether you have unlocked premium features
All local data is encrypted using Android SecureStore and protected by backup restrictions. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all local data.
2.2 Third-Party Services
TerpAI does not collect personally identifiable information directly.
- Payments and subscriptions are managed by RevenueCat, which collects purchase-related data required for subscription services.
- Payments are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing.
- Crash reports may be collected via Google Play Services to monitor performance and stability.
- Google AdMob may display ads and collect device identifiers and usage data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
2.3 What We Do Not Collect
- We do not use Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics.
- We do not track cannabis usage patterns or strain preferences outside local storage.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not access contacts, camera, or microphone.
- Your journal entries are never uploaded or synchronized to any server.
3. App Permissions Explained
TerpAI requests Android permissions related to internet access, network state checks, and storage use for export or backup features on supported Android versions. TerpAI does not request access to camera, microphone, contacts, location, phone, or SMS.
4. How We Use Data
Third-party service data is used only to manage subscriptions and premium access, display advertisements, and monitor app performance. Your locally stored journal data is used only on your device for your own reference and is never transmitted, analyzed, or accessed by TerpAI or any third party.
5. Data Sharing
Subscription data is shared only with RevenueCat for service provision. Payment data is handled exclusively by Google Play Billing. Advertisement data is managed by Google AdMob. No data is sold to third parties or used for marketing purposes beyond in-app advertising. Your journal data is never shared, uploaded, or accessed by anyone.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
All journal entries, search history, and preferences are stored locally on your device and are permanently deleted when you uninstall TerpAI. Payment and subscription records are retained by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat in accordance with their own policies.
To delete your data, uninstall TerpAI from your device to remove local data, cancel subscriptions through Google Play Store settings, or contact terpai@protonmail.com for assistance.
7. Your Rights
- Access your locally stored journal data at any time within the app
- Export your journal entries where the feature is available
- Delete all data by uninstalling the app
- Opt out of personalized advertising through device settings

8. Security
All journal data is encrypted using Android's hardware-backed SecureStore. Backup and restore are disabled to help prevent unauthorized access to personal data. Transactions are processed over encrypted channels with measures intended to protect data in transit and at rest.
9. Age Restriction
TerpAI is restricted to users 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect or process data from minors. If we discover that a user under 21 has provided data, we will delete it immediately.
10. Third-Party Links
TerpAI may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. Users should review third-party privacy policies before providing information.
11. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated to reflect legal, regulatory, or platform requirements. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
