PRIVACY POLICY – TerpAI
Effective Date: December 16th, 2025
1. Introduction
TerpAI ("we," "us," or "our"), developed by Cunning Creek Studios, is committed to protecting user privacy. This application is intended for adults aged 21 and over. It is not directed to children or minors, and we do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 21.
2. Information Collected and Stored
2.1 Local Data (Stored on Your Device Only)
TerpAI stores the following data locally on your device using encrypted storage. This data NEVER leaves your device:
• Journal Entries: Your personal cannabis usage notes, ratings, and reflections.
• Search History: Recent strain searches for quick access.
• Preferences: App settings and display preferences.
• Premium Status: Whether you have unlocked premium features.
All local data is encrypted using Android's SecureStore and protected by backup restrictions. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all local data.
2.2 Third-Party Services
Personal Data: TerpAI does not collect personally identifiable information directly.
Payments & Subscriptions: Managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat collects purchase-related data (product identifiers, transaction details) required for subscription services. Payments are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing.
Device and Usage Data: Crash reports may be collected via Google Play Services to monitor performance and stability.
Advertisements: Google AdMob displays ads and may collect device identifiers (advertising ID, IP address) and usage data in accordance with their privacy policy.
2.3 What We DON'T Collect
• ❌ We do NOT use Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics
• ❌ We do NOT track your cannabis usage patterns or strain preferences
• ❌ We do NOT collect location data
• ❌ We do NOT access your contacts, camera, or microphone
• ❌ Your journal entries are NEVER uploaded or synchronized to any server
3. App Permissions Explained
TerpAI requests the following Android permissions:
• INTERNET: Required to display ads and process payments.
• ACCESSNETWORKSTATE: Check internet connection for ad loading.
• READ/WRITEEXTERNALSTORAGE: Used only for journal export/backup features (Android 12 and below).
TerpAI does NOT request access to: camera, microphone, contacts, location, phone, or SMS.
4. How We Use Data
Data collected through third-party services is used solely to:
• Manage subscriptions and premium access (RevenueCat, Google Play Billing)
• Display advertisements (Google AdMob)
• Monitor and improve app performance (Google Play crash reports)
Your locally-stored journal data is used only on your device for your personal reference. It is never transmitted, analyzed, or accessed by TerpAI or any third party.
5. Data Sharing
Subscription data is shared only with RevenueCat for service provision (RevenueCat Privacy Policy).
Payment data is handled exclusively by Google Play Billing (Google Play Privacy Policy).
Advertisement data is managed by Google AdMob (AdMob Privacy).
No data is sold to third parties or used for marketing purposes beyond in-app advertising.
Your journal data is never shared, uploaded, or accessed by anyone—it stays encrypted on your device.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Local Data: All journal entries, search history, and preferences are stored locally on your device. This data is permanently deleted when you uninstall TerpAI.
Third-Party Data: Payment and subscription records are retained by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat in accordance with their policies.
To Delete Your Data:
Uninstall TerpAI from your device to delete all local data.
Cancel subscriptions via Google Play Store settings.

7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access your locally-stored journal data at any time within the app.
• Export your journal entries (premium feature).
• Delete all data by uninstalling the app.
• Opt out of personalized advertising via your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
• Request information about third-party data handling via terpai@protonmail.com.
For subscription and payment data, users should refer directly to RevenueCat and Google Play privacy policies.
8. Security
All journal data is encrypted using Android's hardware-backed SecureStore. Backup and restore are disabled to prevent unauthorized access to your personal data.
All transactions are processed over encrypted channels. Appropriate technical and organizational measures are implemented to protect data in transit and at rest.
9. Age Restriction
TerpAI is restricted to users 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect or process data from minors. If we discover that a user under 21 has provided data, we will delete it immediately.
10. Third-Party Links
TerpAI may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. Users should review their privacy policies before providing any information.
11. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated to reflect legal, regulatory, or platform requirements. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
